Of course, as in military campaigns, a rapid response in one direction may occasionally have to be followed by a "strategic withdrawal" in another direction. Charge that to "the fog of war", and to the necessary flexibility any mental or military campaign must maintain to be effective. But the mission will always be the same: common sense, based upon facts and "real politick", supported by a visceral sense of Justice and a commitment to be pro-active. That's all I promise.

I REGRET TO SAY IT, BUT
I think that the major Western Powers - and until recently America - are in the 1936 - 1939 phase of understanding of the plans of Nazi Germany for the World.
They have learned little and remembered less. And the outcome will be the same...but much quicker and more deadly.

Our only hope is the demonstrated wisdom of (only half of) the American People in having elected Donald Trump as President.

And here is my Take on a very recent bit of History.

Zelinski had no intention of signing any minerals agreement with President Trump...and probably of signing any Peace agreement with Putin.
That's why he insisted on coming to Washington - to argue his case before the American People instead of privately with their President - whose recent presidential campaign he had just a few months ago campaigned Against!
That was bad enough.
But - as is often true of foreigners who have recently studied a foreign language - his adequate command of English had no awareness of the (hopefully) unintended and unfortunate nuances that some of his statements in the Oval Office and with Bret Baier might have - ie. Insults.

THE RECENT ELECTION OF DONALD TRUMP AS PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES DEMONSTRATED THAT
AT LEAST A MAJORITY OF AMERICANS HAVE COMMON SENSE AND NOT TERMINAL STUPIDITY.

THAT'S GOOD. BUT IT'S NOT ENOUGH. THE LAST FOUR YEARS UNDER THE OTHER GROUP HAVE SUBSTANTIALLY
UNDERMINED THIS NATION'S RULE OF LAW UNDER THE FEDERAL CONSTITUTION.

One of the most serious of those injuries relates to the Separation of Powers in the Federal Government, most especially
as it affects to the Executive Branch of Government.

President Trump is directly dealing with that problem, in one way through the function and structure of "DOGE".
For a concise analysis of that task and plan, see:

Of the President's many challenges, the result of this may be the most enduring and consequential.

"Meanwhile, back at the ranch..." while the Democrats are "in the wilderness", the GOP is at risk of the same outcome - according to a very perceptive observer.

HEREWITH, A VERY IMPORTANT CONTROVERSY THAT MUST BE RESOLVED...NECESSARILY ULTIMATELY BY THE U.S. SUPREME COURT.

Although I am also an attorney, I am no Constitutional Law scholar.
However, I can read and can offer my legal / rational interpretation of this part of the 14th Amendment, without reference to my or any other person's political preference as relates to immigration.

"...and subject to the jurisdiction thereof...." is in my opinion the relevant key phrase of the Amendment itself.
The USSC case decided in 1898, considered precedential, states that persons born in the U.S. of non-citizens who were legal residents were citizens.
I read this as finding that those babies complied with the "jurisdiction" requirement through their parents. Legal residents are subject to the "jurisdiction". Illegal residents are not. And therefore, those babies do not derive citizenship through their parents - as required by this Amendment.

I believe that this very important issue will ultimately be decided by the USSC, as it must be.
