quick reactions by myself to news and events of the day, day by day, in
this rapid-fire world of ours. Of course, as in military
campaigns,
a rapid response in one direction may occasionally have to be followed
by a "strategic withdrawal" in another direction. Charge that
to
"the fog of war", and to the necessary flexibility any mental or
military
campaign must maintain to be effective. But the mission will
always
be the same: common sense, based upon facts and "real politick",
supported
by a visceral sense of Justice and a commitment to be
pro-active.
That's all I promise.

This is REAL, folks.
And it doesn't even mention the
constantly increasing abusive, self-serving and often duplicative demands being
made by Medicare and by commercial health insurance payors for
"records" and for professional documentation - even on a quarterly basis
when the only datum that has changed in the interim is the professional's
Age.
To this add the abuse of
requirements for "Prior thorization" before a physician-prescribed
service or substance can be paid - and therefore made available to the patient.
The sum total of this is substantial
increases in the payor's bottom line at the expense of the professionals
providing the health care services.
The Losers here: the Patients and
their Care-Givers.
This cannot be sustained. Thus:
"THE COMING COLLAPSE...."
Physicians and other Health Care
Providers do not have the political power to correct this.
ONLY AN IMPATIENT PUBLIC DOES.. But
they do not have much time.

ON THE HOUSE SPEAKERSHIP CIRCUS ABOUT TO ENTER ITS SECOND ACT.
I have already recommended one
article that describes the despotic Speakership just ended, versus that which
has been imposed on Speaker McCarthy:
the recent article in the WSJ by
Kimberly Strassel.
Now comes another insight by a
long-time analyst, whose offering is enhanced by the fact that her long
anti-Trump fever appears to have broken, leaving only a clear view of what we
have too often come to laughingly call that "deliberative body" -
Congress.

Up To the Fringe", by Peggy Noonan, (in WSJ January 7-8, 2023,
Opinion, pA13).
NOW, PERHAPS, ONWARD AND UPWARD.

FOR THE SPEAKERSHIP:
"CONCESSIONS" OR REFORMS?
With rare exception, generally from
the WSJ and on Fox News, there is no longer unbiased journalistic
reportage.
There are half-truths and outright
bias on every page.
Example: look up the Newsweek
article (and numerous other reports) that describe the recent House Republican
negotiations as distorting or weakening the Speaker's role and latitude in
conducting the nation's business.
In fact, LOOK THEM UP. The changes
negotiated alter the Speaker's role from DESPOT to democratic representative
(small "d") of his colleagues and of the people who elected them all.
That's A Good Thing...And It's About Time.

DOCTORS AND THEIR PATIENTS GENERALLY
KNOW WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE DOCTORS MAKE A WRONG DIAGNOSIS.
And the Republican Political Doctors
made a wrong diagnosis regarding the poor outcome for them in the November,
2022 elections.
They attributed the results to an
anti - Trump vote. WRONG.
The result was directly attributable
to the Poison Pill of American Politics: ABORTION.
If the USSC had announced its
decision after the election, the Republican Party would have wrested
control of both the House and the Senate from the Democrats.
And the mess of the House
Speakership election is the direct result of that misdiagnosis and the
frustration that followed.
There are ample excellent analyses
of what is now going on, much better than I can offer. I urge their review on
the reader, for your sake and for that of our nation.
- The
best is the interview with Victor Davis Hanson on the January 5, 2023 show
of Tucker Carlson.
- Interviews
with Mollie Hemingway on the Bret Baier news hour and elsewhere.
- Much
of the Bret Baier Jan. 5 news hour, devoted in real time to the speeches
then being presented on the House floor.
- The
numerous WSJ Editorials and articles on this subject - especially those
which do not give vent to the WSJ "Trump Derangement
Syndrome".
- The
leadership challenge to the current head of the Republican Party.
- The
nomination by Matt Gaetz of President Trump for Speakership of the
House of Representatives
Meanwhile, some Republicans marvel
at the "discipline" of the Democrat House members in their constant
voting unanimity...in supporting positions and actions like the erasure of our
national southern border with the influx of millions of unknown foreigners
throughout our cities and neighborhoods; support of lawlessness on our streets
and in our courts; enabling of raw sex experimentation on even very young
children; the killing of human beings in abortion; the bankrupting of our
nation; complete erasure of any semblance of morality, personal or societal....
THIS IS NOT "DISCIPLINE".
THIS IS MADNESS.
BUT WHO ARE
"REPUBLICANS"? AND HOW MANY KINDS ARE THEY?
There can only be ONE KIND OF
"REPUBLICAN": A PERSONALLY AND POLITICALLY CONSERVATIVE PERSON WHO
STANDS AND FIGHTS AGAINST EVERY BIT OF THE ABOVE NOTED MADNESS, for the benefit
of his country - and even at his personal expense.
If the current Speakership exercise
ends up producing that, it will have been worth it...and we as a nation will
have avoided an explosion in the Fall of 2024.

AS A GROUP OF REPUBLICAN MEMBERS (TOO
FEW, IT TURNS OUT) TRY TO RETURN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES TO A
DELIBERATIVE BODY,
an equally serious change in our
system of "self-governance" has taken place in recent decades,
something which I appreciated during a Law School course:
"ADMINISTRATIVE LAW".
American Law is supposed to be
enacted by ELECTED representatives of the PEOPLE - and administered
by non-elected hired workers under the theoretical control of the President. It
became clear to me that that had long ceased to be the case, with resulting
great loss of influence and control by the People on how and by whom they were
being controlled. Although Serious and un-democratic on its face, I did not
realize the broader implications of those changes on the nation's entire
structure and function.
Now comes an excellent article on
the subject that bodes ill and dangerous for our national integrity unless
corrected:

at the stake".
