"Do
We Need Our Country Anymore?" is the title of a piece by Larry Arnn,
President of Hillsdale College in its December 2018 publication of
IMPRIMIS. This addresses the supposed incompatibility between
"Nationalism" and the Quixotic dream of a "One World Order" . They are
not incapable of cooperation, so long as nationalism is recognized as
necessary to societies as oxygen is necessary to individuals.
As
a supporter of our President, AS OUR PRESIDENT and for his policies and
goals, I now find myself awaiting "the rest of the story" - I hope - to
President Trump's decision to leave Northern Syria. See: "The Cost Of Betraying Syria's Kurds", by Tommie Meyerson (in WSJ Dec. 21, 2018, Opinion, pA15.
Immigration
"Policy" of this country should be recognized as the incompetent and
cynical debacle belonging to every Federal Administration of the last
30 years.The only Federal official who comes to the problem with clean
hands is Donald Trump. (And spare me the the tripe about his
employing some illegal immigrants). Unenforced and unenforceable
"laws", industrial grade employment of illegals producing massive
profits, "Dreamers", "Amnesty", ineffective enforcement of illicit drug
laws, ... When faced with an invasion, be it The Battle of the Bulge or
our invisible national borders, the first thing to is to stop the
invasion. Both Republicans and now especially Democrats will earn the
lasting enmity of all Americans if they do not enable the President to

College campuses have gone absolutely insane.
A
year ago, a student group asked me to speak about our nation's
immigration laws at the University of California at Berkeley, the
so-called "birthplace of the free speech movement."
As you may
have heard, my speech was abruptly canceled because leftist thugs
decided to riot and the administration wouldn't stick up for free
speech.
Unfortunately, I'm not the only one to suffer threats and intimidation on campus. Far from it.
As
I point out in Resistance is Futile: How the Trump-Hating Left Lost Its
Collective Mind, ever since Donald Trump's election, liberals have lost
their minds. But there's no padded room to keep them contained!
Instead, these violent, masked lunatics have taken over college
campuses, where young Americans are turned into automaton leftists just
like themselves.
America's universities are supposed to expand
young minds through free speech, debate, and robust thought. Instead,
they're leftist indoctrination factories that punish dissenting speech
and ban views that don't align with the socialists, communists, and
Marxists trying to hijack our country.
I fear for our future
when colleges teach our nation's youth to harass, harangue, and harm
anyone who disagrees with them — or even anyone designated a Bad
Thinker by people who can't think at all. Instead of a battle of ideas,
they're being taught to do real battle — to riot in the streets with
black masks and baseball bats. What harm did all those Starbucks
windows ever do to them?
Young conservatives on college campuses
across our nation are losing their right to free speech – and even the
right to walk down the street without getting sucker punched – because
of how intolerant the liberals have become.
But lest you think
I've given up hope, faithful conservative, there's a group I trust that
fights back against this onslaught and exposes leftist bias, abuse, and
indoctrination on college campuses for all the world to see: Campus
Reform.
Campus Reform, a project of the Leadership Institute, is
the single most powerful force for campus free speech in America today.
By sticking up for conservative students and giving them the tools
necessary to defend themselves and their principles, Campus Reform
provides an absolutely essential public service.
Bottom line –

I
took one of the Leadership Institute's courses myself when I was a
student. It helped me become a better editor and expose the liberals'

to other young patriots.
Like they did for me, LI trains these
students to powerfully — and civilly! — articulate conservative
principles. Their training equips young people with the tools to stand
up for their principles when they find themselves censored, punished,
or threatened by radical faculty or students.
You see, it's not
just media personalities like Ben Shapiro, James O'Keefe, and myself
that the liberal mob tries to run off campuses.
Campus police at
the College of DuPage in Illinois told conservative students they'd
"lock them up" for handing out copies of the U.S. Constitution. Yes,
that dangerous document that the created the greatest country ever
known to man.
A teaching assistant at the University of
Nebraska-Lincoln harassed the student president of a conservative group
for recruiting students. With a gesture from her middle finger, she
shrieked profanities at the conservative student and called her a
"neo-fascist" and "Nazi." Charming.
At Purdue University in
Indiana, a staffer called conservatives "vile, racist idiots" and
threatened to rape pro-life students. (And you wonder why liberals
prefer violence to debate.)
In all three cases, LI's Campus
Reform exposed the truth. Armed with investigative reports from their
student correspondents on campus, Campus Reform got word out to their
nationwide audience of concerned conservatives. And they brought it to
news outlets like Fox News, Newsmax, the Blaze, and numerous talk radio
shows.
Ultimately, Campus Reform's exposure of the truth got
results. In these cases and many others, Campus Reform's quick and
powerful action forced universities to change their anti-conservative
policies, discipline leftist student groups, and suspend or fire
radical professors.
I believe an angel gets its wings every time
a leftist professor is fired for their outrageous and unapologetic
abuses against conservatives.
But Campus Reform's fight to make the left see the light and feel the heat won't be won overnight.
The
Stalinist show-trial that liberals tried to hold against Judge Brett
Kavanaugh reveals the disgusting depths the radical left will stoop to.
And with the left gaining political strength in the midterm elections,
the suppression of conservative free speech on campuses is only going
to increase.
Friend, let's make 'em pay.

HERE'S A NOTE OF APPROVAL FROM ME FOR THE NYTIMES: for calling a breathless piece of OPINION..."OPINION!" for a change.

is long piece of hyperbole that plays fast and loose with basic tenets
of American Law and that equates "charges" and "prosecutions" with
convictions and instances of prosecutorial over-reach. Here I offer
just a few basic concepts to keep in mind when considering the most
toxic topic in American society and politics during the last
half-century.
1) Abortion is the intentional killing of a human
being, from the time of conception (union of ovum and sperm in the
womb) for any purpose other than to save the Life of the mother. 2)
No honest scientist or physician can conclude otherwise on scientific
grounds: that a fertilized human ovum is in every respect a human
being, a "person" - and nothing else. 3) Roe V. Wade was a
legal case "decided" without basis in Law, Science or Morality - and
only based on crass politics. Its progeny in USSC cases are all
similarly based, aka "precedent". 4) A basis of Criminal Law is the
requirement to find both "Actus Reus" (the criminal act) and
"Mens Rea" (the specific intention of the accused to perform the
criminal act), or at least a finding of reckless endangerment to
support a lesser charge.
The remainder of this "Opinion" is hyperbole and misleading.
Now see also the WSJ Editorial of December 28, 2018 entitled; "The Chief Justice And The President". Although
not a discussion of Abortion, it is definitely on point as a discussion
of the injection of Politics and Legislating in the deliberations and
positions of the United States Supreme Court over the last several
decades and to the present time. Yet another debilitating attack on the
foundations of our Federal Constitution. Unless corrected, none of this
can end well for America.

The Real Problem
Those of you who worry about Democrats versus Republicans --
relax, here is our real problem.
In
a Purdue University classroom, they were discussing the qualifications
to be President of the United States. It was pretty
simple.
The candidate must be a natural born citizen of at least 35 years of
age.
However, one girl in the class immediately started in
on how unfair it was of the requirement to be a natural born
citizen. In short, her opinion was that this requirement
prevented many capable individuals from becoming president.
The
class was taking it in and letting her rant, and not many jaws hit the
floor when she wrapped up her argument by stating, "What makes a
natural born citizen any more qualified to lead this country than one
born by C-section?"
Yep, these are the same kinds of 18-year-olds that are now voting in
our elections! They breed, and they walk among us.
And then eventually they become members of Congress!

What to do?
"Shoveling back the tide" is not a good idea.
Changing the course of water flow is "a Federal offense".
Moving
or raising structures is a short-term solution - and expensive, both
for the individual and for the community that will lose taxable
property.
Signing the Paris Accord is a feel-good solution, as any
actions taken by the Western World will be offset by the actions
continuing in the Third World.
As a nation, we must do whatever we
can consistent with our own personal and national economic health,
while awaiting the results of honest climate research in progress.
Personally and individually, that may mean moving - while higher ground
is still available.

"SCHMUCK".
An apt word for the comments authored in the article posted below.
That's why we have physician "burn-out", and physician suicide at twice
the general rate, and physicians leaving the Profession decades before
their time. It's the result of the callow up-bringing and "culture" of
the recent generations that manifest in so many other ways...and in
this case (being a Physician) changing a silk purse into a sow's ear.
And SHAME on those already - arrived physicians who denigrate the
ideals that may still motivate newer classes of medical students
despite their surroundings.
Being a Physician is a Calling and a Vocation that has been under siege
for decades by stupid, cynical, craven people, some of whom are also
non-practising "physicians" seeking only money and power and status
among their own.
And it can only be saved for the hundreds of millions of good people
who need them by staying independent, by choosing the field
of battle, and by Fighting Like Hell for their patients and for
themselves. It can still be done...but not with an 8 hour day, or a 40
hour week, or by referring to Mrs. Jones as "the one in bed 4-B".
After 61 years as a practising physician, I still work a 40 hour week
(1/2 time for me), I take all patients who will do their part in the
relationship - and I look forward to all of it as a Privilege...while
fighting like Hell against the mounting forces that may destroy it all.
I'll leave it only in a pine box...a closed pine box so that no one
will be sure that I've Left.

If an established Asthmatic is not treated with an accurate and
complete diagnosis, with effective environmental control - especially

Originally set in the 1990's, the next Escape from New York will be the
real thing, as the island amputates itself from the rest of America
with its incessant traffic snarls, its gross air pollution, its vile
living conditions for all but the super rich, its ungovernable Leftists
- cum - Socialists / Communists. It will become the next Brazilian
barrio at its worst. Soon, everyone who has something to offer society,
who is willing to work for themselves and families, and who is willing
to fight for their rights will have moved: to the suburbs, to the
country, AWAY. The same will be true of LA and perhaps a few other
cities.
Then America will be Great Again.
Is that what it will take? We are on that path.

ABOUT PRESIDENT GEORGE H. W. BUSH...ONE FINAL THOUGHT.
Although I would not ordinarily publish the statement noted below, out
of respect and out of a lack of personal recollection regarding his
four years a Republican President, I absolutely reject the assertion
broadly expressed that President Bush 41 was responsible for the
dissolution of the Soviet Union.
ABSOLUTELY WRONG; and that I do remember.
The dissolution of the Soviet Union was the direct and entire result of
the actions of President Reagan and of Pope John Paul ll throughout the
1980's.
To allege otherwise does disrespect to each of these three good leaders.

a couple of occasions, your mother and I drove to Central Ct. State
University to attend a Polish Center seminar. On the first occasion, we
heard and thereafter were within personal contact distance with Lech
Walesa. On the second occasion, we heard Pres. George H.W. Bush. But,
before the lecture we were in a common area. There we met and spoke
briefly with the President - and we have a great photo to
prove
it. Do you have it? Do you want it?

I
always thought he could have been more effective throughout his career
if he had been more "Real Politic" and less "New World Order". But
nevertheless....

ABOUT THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH: THE CLERGY AND THE LAITY.
This
comment is prompted by a recent article by William A. Donohue, PhD,
President and Publisher of "Catalyst", the organ of the Journal of the
Catholic League For Religious And Civil Rights.
Since the launching of my web site (asthma.drsprecace.com),
I have maintained a Link to the Catholic League, to accompany my many
years-long subscription. Professor Donohue has long performed a vital
and effective service in defending our Church from constant and often
scurrilous attacks.
That is why I consider an article he published
in the December, 2018 issue of the Catalyst to be a misfire, in tone
and to some extent in substance.

The tone is harsh, judgmental and dismissive.
The
substance paints with a broad brush that fails to give credence to the
role of the Laity ("the Body of the Church") as clearly defined in the
Catechism of the Catholic Church and as commonly preached from the
pulpit. The Laity never subscribed to the "Pray, Pay and Obey" dictum
emanating from some quarters in the past.
To this must now be
added the alleged and also proven misfeasance and malfeasance of too
many of our Clergy during recent decades.
The Laity must therefore
now take a more direct role in stabilizing this listing Ship. That role
must be on an individual basis and perhaps also on an organized basis.
